For more than 45 years, Sound Legal Aid has been a trusted resource for people navigating complex legal challenges. Founded as the Thurston–Mason Pro Bono Project, we began by connecting volunteer attorneys with those in need of legal guidance. Over time, we expanded our services to provide more accessible, compassionate support—offering free legal clinics, partnering with SafePlace to assist survivors of domestic violence, and launching the Housing Justice Project to help individuals and families facing eviction.
As the need for legal assistance grew, we extended our services to Grays Harbor, Pacific, and Lewis Counties. In 2024, we became Sound Legal Aid, a name that reflects our commitment to serving communities across the region. Today, we continue to provide client-centered legal support, recognizing that many of those we serve are experiencing crisis. We work with care and understanding, ensuring that every person is treated with dignity and respect as they navigate their legal options.
